Teach Act

The "TEACH Act allows teachers to perform and display works and to make copies for digital distance education, making the rights closer to those we have in face-to-face teaching. The TEACH Act authorizes us to digitize works for use in digital distance education, but only to the extent we are authorized to use those works in Section 110(2), and so long as they are not available digitally in a format free from technological protection. The act authorizes are a small subset of the uses of electronic resources educators use."

copyright

This video is funny and informative, but kind of hard to follow with all the jumping around and putting a string of words together. The copyright law is there to protect the original work so you can't get ripped off or plagiarized. Different things that have copyrights are books, dance, movies, animation, ideas, etc. This law has been around for many years to help keep people's ideas and works from being taken and copied. This is a fair law, but is not fool proof many people try to take others ideas. This law isn't understood by everyone and some people may get in trouble without knowing, but it's very necessary and is used daily.

classroom project

The teacher does a good job of helping the students become interested in class and gives them a choice to pick what they're interested in. This project will help the students ability to work in groups as well as social skills. They get a chance to work with video technology and get a chance to create and communicate through this technology. I think this would be a very interesting project to work on and would be something I would enjoy. The teacher does a good job at guiding the students throughout their projects, she does have some additional help from other teachers.

Technology in class

There were a lot of good points that the video showed. They were trying to make a point that technology might not be as good as we think it is. Laptops used during class can be more of a distraction during class. They spend time on facebook or emailing each other. The students rather surf the net than actually pay attention in class. I enjoy the new technological advances we have made, but is it a problem in general or even the classroom.

Video-spider

The teacher does a good job of interacting with her students. She gets them involved in the class and keeps them busy by doing different activities like taking outside and observing the spider. She uses the computer to introduce technology to her students by having them read about spiders and do some research.

Interview project

The students learn about the interview process and how to do one and set it up. They learn how to record it, edit, be the interviewer and interviewee. Through this activity the students are able to work with digital cameras and recorders and how to use them. The class has good interaction with the teacher and they seem to work well together.

Video

The students seemed to be enthused about working with cameras and video recorders. The technology from this video is a little out to date. It's good to see younger students participating in these activities and helping each other out.
